Eva Diallo (b. 1996, Lausanne, Switzerland) lives and works in Dakar, Senegal.
In 2018, after completing her photography degree at the Centre d’Enseignement Professionnel of Vevey in Switzerland, Eva Diallo moved to Saint-Louis, Senegal. This relocation allowed Diallo to fully immerse herself in her artistic practice which focuses on issues of illegal migration, and draws on her own family history– particularly that of her two cousins who left Senegal for Italy and France. Her numerous trips to Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and across West Africa, retracing her relatives' journeys, shape a series of ongoing photographs divided into chapters: Bolol.
Diallo’s solo exhibitions include: Galerie Cécile Fakhoury, Dakar, Senegal (2023); Seattle Art Museum, US (2023); OFF Dak’art Biennale with Galerie du fleuve, Saint Louis, Senegal (2022); Trames les Murs, Dakar, Senegal (2021); Club 44, La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland (2021); Galerie Strates, Lausanne, Switzerland (2020).
